Student leadership in a Christian speech and debate club, can be a powerful way to develop young leaders while fostering a culture of discipleship, excellence, and service. 

1. Structure of Student Leadership

  • Club Officers – Positions like President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer provide organizational leadership.

  • Event Coordinators – Students can take ownership of planning club meetings, practice tournaments, or outreach events.

  • Mentorship Roles – Experienced students can coach younger members, providing feedback and encouragement.

  • Devotional Leaders –  lead prayer, devotionals, or Scripture discussions keeps Christ at the center.

2. Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Modeling Christlike Leadership – Student leaders should be servant-hearted, seeking to encourage and build up their peers.

  • Organizing Club Activities – Running meetings, managing practice debates, and ensuring speech coaching sessions are productive.

  • Encouraging Team Growth – Helping newer students gain confidence and skills in public speaking and argumentation.

  • Fostering a Positive Culture – Promoting sportsmanship, respect, and a Christ-centered attitude in competition.
