Supporting Your Child's Growth
As a parent of a speaker, you have the opportunity to actively participate in your child's educational experience by supporting their growth and development in leadership skills. By encouraging and guiding your child through their journey in our Speech and Debate Classes, you can help them build confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills that will benefit them in all aspects of their lives.

Getting Involved in the Club

Parent leadership in Voyage Speech and Debate Club is essential for creating a supportive and well-organized environment for students. Here are some key opportunities for parent involvement:
1. Club Administration & Coordination

Club Director/Administrator – Oversees club operations, ensures alignment with NCFCA guidelines, and manages logistics.

Treasurer – Reminds families of payments due.

Communication Coordinator – Keeps parents and students informed via Band, schedules, and announcements. Work with Student Secretary to supervise student is sharing information on a timely manner.
2. Coaching & Mentorship

Speech Coach – Guides students in developing strong speeches, improving delivery, and refining content.

Debate Coach – Helps students with argumentation, case structure, research, and strategy.

Judge Trainer – Prepares parents and students to judge practice rounds and official tournaments.
- Apologetics Instructor – Weekly present for 25 minutes on questions provided by NCFCA.
