Supporting Your Child's Growth

As a parent of a speaker, you have the opportunity to actively participate in your child's educational experience by supporting their growth and development in leadership skills. By encouraging and guiding your child through their journey in our Speech and Debate Classes, you can help them build confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills that will benefit them in all aspects of their lives.

Getting Involved in the Club

Parent involvement plays a key role in the success of our Speech and Debate Clubs. By volunteering, attending events, and engaging with other parents and students, you can contribute to creating a supportive and enriching environment for your child and their peers. Take an active role in the club and see the positive impact it has on your child's leadership development.

Building a Community of Support

At Voyage Homeschool, we believe in the power of community and collaboration. As a parent, you are part of a supportive network of like-minded individuals who share the same goal of helping their children succeed. Connect with other parents, share experiences, and learn from each other to create a strong community of support for your child's leadership journey.  We need one another!

Parent leadership in Voyage Speech and Debate Club is essential for creating a supportive and well-organized environment for students. Here are some key opportunities for parent involvement:

1. Club Administration & Coordination

  • Club Director/Administrator – Oversees club operations, ensures alignment with NCFCA guidelines, and manages logistics.

  • Treasurer – Reminds families of payments due.

  • Communication Coordinator – Keeps parents and students informed via Band, schedules, and announcements. Work with Student Secretary to supervise student is sharing information on a timely manner.

2. Coaching & Mentorship

  • Speech Coach – Guides students in developing strong speeches, improving delivery, and refining content.

  • Debate Coach – Helps students with argumentation, case structure, research, and strategy.

  • Judge Trainer – Prepares parents and students to judge practice rounds and official tournaments.

  • Apologetics Instructor – Weekly present for 25 minutes on questions provided by NCFCA.
